Description
The Tikka TAC A1 has been an overwhelming success in the precision
shooting community. It was difficult to
design products for such a well-equipped rifle out of the box. After many range days and conversations with
TAC A1 shooters we got our pencils out and started designing.
First out of the gate, we knew we needed to ditch picatinny
rail on the butt stock for a decent bag rider.
After testing a few designs, we came up with a geometry that
slides smoothly on bags while giving the shooter a larger footprint for the
rifle stock.
Remove rail and pin and install the bag rider with included screws.

Bought 2 of these bag riders and got them within days of my order.
Love the design, simple but functional. Didn’t know how to remove my rail after taking the screws off but social media was helpful in getting tips on how to do it without screwing up.
The factory screws on my rail appear to be shorter than what MT anticipated. I guess my 2 year old Tikka TAC T3x is different.
Long story short they are now aware of the variation and plan to address this moving forward.
If you bought the bag rider recently and experienced the same issue, here is what I found to work.
Overall extremely happy with the bag rider and MT for being proactive.
