Tikka T3/T3x Gen2 Billet Magazine - Short Action 3 Round OUT OF STOCK - BACKORDER OKAY

After the overwhelming success of the Gen1 Billet Tikka Magazines, our team went back to the drawing board to make this Tikka staple even better.  Using feedback from our worldwide network of customers who use these mags in virtually every condition possible, we went to work implementing the changes they requested.

Based on this feedback, we are excited to introduce the Mountain Tactical Company Gen2 Billet Magazines for the Tikka T3/T3x rifle system.

These magazines are 33% lighter than their Gen1 counterparts.  They also feature smoother feeding and positive ejection.

Additionally, our team was able to create a reliable feeding geometry that allows the long action magazine to feed 308 based cartridges and short magnum cartridges all from the same magazine.  This eliminates confusion for owners of multiple rifles.  One magazine can feed all their short action Tikka T3 or T3x rifles.

While we were updating the features and geometry of this magazine, we also had the opportunity to update our manufacturing processes.  We passed on the cost savings of the lower machining cost with a 12.5% reduction in price compared to the Gen1 mags.

Simply put, these are the finest Tikka T3 or Tikka T3x magazines available.

Since the Tikka T3 and T3x were released, Tikka Shooters have complained about the plastic magazines included with the rifle.  Other companies have released billet magazines, but the cost is prohibitive for most Tikka owners.

Mountain Tactical Company has created an affordable magazine for the Tikka community.

The Mountain Tactical Company Gen2 Billet Magazine bodies are cut from aerospace grade billet aluminum and hard anodized for a lifetime of service.

The magazine followers are machined from Delrin, a self-lubricating thermo-polymer typically reserved for precision applications requiring high lubricity while retaining superior solvent and chemical resistance.

One of the key components is a quality magazine spring.  Going cheap would create a magazine that would fatigue over time and fail in the field.

We’ve chosen to have custom 17-7 PH stainless steel springs manufactured.  17-7 PH is an amazing material designed for the aerospace industry when intricate parts require low distortion over time and temperature changes.  Additionally, it has phenomenal corrosion resistance and retains its mechanical properties under substantial stress.

I‘m interrested in a short action billet magazin for the.308. My questions are:
Would you ship to Germany and would it be possible to pay with PayPal as well?
Shipping to Germany should be no problem since low capacity magazins are not regulated by law.
Thank you
( Roland Aicher, 30/07/2020 )

Hi Roland,

We do ship to Germany/Europe. Just to alert you, it usually takes 8-10 weeks for folks to receive their order. We only use our website linked system called PayTrace. We are not set up for PayPal.

Hope this helps!

Does the magazine come with the bolt modification?
Is it possible to ship to South Africa (courier service)?
When will it be available ?
( MARCEL, 09/07/2020 )

Hi Marcel,

If you have a short action caliber and you get a short action mag, there is no modification needed to be done to the bolt stop. If you have a long action caliber, the short action mag would not work. If you want to convert a short action caliber to a long action, then you would also need a long action bolt stop. Also, we cannot currently ship to South Africa due to recent US Post Office regulations. If you have somewhere else we can ship it to, maybe a friend in another country, we can try that. We have found that it can sometimes take a 8-10 weeks for international delivery, from start to destination. As of today's date, mid July, 2020, we are about to start manufacturing short action mags, so they will be completed in about 4-5 weeks. We do fill our backorders first, though!

Hope this helps, and thanks for your inquiry!

I have a Tikka3X Hunter in 6.5 Creedmoor. Which magazine would fit and when would it be available?? I am in Ontario, Canada. Regards, Dave. ( DAVID WARR, 09/07/2020 )

Hi David,

Our short action billet mag would fit, unless you wanted to load out longer than the COAL of 3.0.  There is an option to accommodate long action mags, and then you would also need a long action bolt stop for that. As of today, 7/9, we are looking at about 4-6 weeks out on these.

Hi, can i use this magazine in a 7SAUM that im buildind or will i need the long action version ? ( John Denton, 05/07/2020 )

Hi John,

The max length for our short actions is 3 inches. So, if that's too short and you want longer, then you would switch out to a long action with a long action bolt stop.

Thanks for your inquiry,

Have a TIkka T3X Lite 300 WSM. Is this the correct magazine for my gun? ( Simon Kokkinakis, 26/06/2020 )

Hello Simon,

The S/A mag will work just fine. They will give you a (COAL) cartridge overall length of 3.0, with standard size bullets of 2.84. If, however, you wanted to load out your own bullets, you could get a L/A mag. Doing so will give you more COAL, to 3.4, getting you past the industry standard size, so you can load longer bullets. Up to you. If you go for the long action mags, though, you'd also need to get a L/A bolt stop.

Thanks for your inquiry!

Just to be sure, will the MT, long action 30-06 mags function reliably with the 308 Winchester cartridge?
Mike might be on the same track as a few of us who are looking at using or developing loads such as this recent offering from Berger:
It has a longer than standard COAL.
( Aaron, 26/05/2020 )

Hello Aaron,

Yes, you'll be able to use the L/A billet mag, but you will need to switch out your bolt stop to a long action bolt stop.

Thanks for your inquiry!

Forgot to ask on my previous question/post:
Any chance for a 5 round or 10 round mag?
( Rick Tedford, 23/05/2020 )

Dear Rick,

We will make 5 round mags in the future, but no time frame yet.

Thanks for your inquiry!

I just bought a T3x TAC A1 on a 6.5 CM. Is this a compatible and a direct factory replacement for the OEM mag included? ( Jack, 01/05/2020 )

Hi Jack,

These Tikka T3/T3x billet mags are a direct factory replacement for the standard T3/T3x inlet. These mags are not compatible with the TAC A1 inlet.

Thanks for your inquiry!

Would i need to change my bottom to us this mag. Also will this mag work for the .270 cartridge? ( Floyd, 12/04/2020 )

 Hello Floyd,

Tikka T3/T3x Gen2 Billet Magazine - Short action, 3 round is a direct factory mag replacement for the Factory Tikka T3/T3x platform so it is not necessary to change your bottom metal.  The .270 is a L/A caliber and would require a L/A billet mag instead of the S/A billet mag.

Thanks for your inquiry!

What is the maximum COAL for 308-based cartridges in your short action magazine?

Can the long action magazine be used with 308-based cartridges?
( Mike Bappe, 19/03/2020 )

Hi Mike,

The maximum COAL for a S/A billet mag is 3.0 inches.  You can use a L/A mag if you switch out your S/A bolt stop to a L/A bolt stop.

Thanks for your inquiry!

Will your tikka T3/T3X Gen2 Billet Magazine work on my CTR 6.5 Creedmore? Thanks. ( Marc Fong, 18/03/2020 )

Hi Marc,

Unfortunately our Billet Magazines are not compatible with the CTR inlet! Hopefully we will develop a CTR magazine eventually.

Thank you for your inquiry
